inQuicity and POGO Events are hosting a Marilyn Monroe themed scavenger hunt to honor the legendary icon's 85th birthday. This is also in support of our SAVE THE DRESS campaign to preserve Marilyn's famous "Seven Year Itch" dress in an auction with the goal to allow it be seen and appreciated by everyone for years to come!
It was once said that Marilyn Monroe was the most fragile and loveable legend of all. Who wouldn't want to learn more about her rich legacy and get a glimpse of life through her eyes? Don't miss the opportunity to visit some of the most influential locations of her life such as the famous NYC subway grate where her dress blew up in "The Seven Year Itch". Not only will you get a chance to experience where Monroe lived, worked, dined and rubbed elbows with celebrities, you'll also geta chance to learn about why these locations were important to her.
The latest in POGO Events popular scavenger hunt series, The Amazing New York Race: New York Through the Eyes of Marilyn Monroe leads teams on a hunt to follow Marilyn Monroe's footsteps around the city. The races uses a unique GPS based cell phone app created for POGO Events by inQuicity (previously The Double-Take Tours), to give teams behind-the-scenes facts about their destinations, as well as new ways to score points.
Racers use their phones to "check in" at the locations given in the clues. Then, if they're in the right place, they'll get a trivia question about the spot they've found, as well as a new photo challenge. Someone on each team must have an iPhone to play (other smartphones won't work...at least not yet!)
